Hoodlums beat monarch, sack community in Ogun
BY DAUD OLATUNJI ABEOKUTA — Hell was let loose in Ehin-Ogbe Community, a border town in Ogijo area of Sagamu Local Government Area of Ogun State when hundreds of hoodlums believed to be land speculators invaded the community, beat the monarch, Oba Akeem Elupepe, and some residents before they sacked the entire community. An eye witness told Vanguard that the monarch, who was installed by Igode-in-Council, and four others sustained injuries following the attack. The hoodlums, it was further learnt, later chased them out of the community and subsequently took over, claiming that the land belongs to their forefathers. Narrating his ordeal in the hands of his attackers from his hide-out, Oba Elupepe accused his rival to the throne identified as Moshood Okeowo of sponsoring the hoodlums, alleging that the suspected sponsor of the hoodlums used policemen from Lagos State as shield.
