Police arrest informant, 3 other alleged pipeline vandals
BY EVELYN USMAN LAGOS — Operatives of the Inspector-General of Police Special Task Force on Anti-Pipeline Vandalism Unit, weekend, arrested four suspected pipeline vandals in Shagamu area of Ogun State and recovered a 33,000-litre truck loaded with petroleum products siphoned from the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, pipeline. Surprisingly, one of the suspects, Ismaila Adetoro, 40, was a police informant. The suspect who confessed to have abandoned the illicit business two years ago before becoming a police informant, told Vanguard that he was tempted to go back because of the stipend the Police paid him as an informant.
