No To Gay Diplomats

THE federal government has responded with near adequate conviction, the pressure by Western countries to impose the perverted culture of legalising homosexual lifestyles in Nigeria. The two arms of the National Assembly have taken uncompromising stands, making a law prescribing a fourteen-year jail term for people caught, tried and sentenced for practising homosexual acts in Nigeria. Our President, Dr Goodluck Jonathan, has also made it clear that he would align with the feelings of the Nigerian people and its supreme legislature in ensuring that the law is implemented. We are, however, worried at the half-heartedness with which the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is handling the matter. Suswam decries rising cases of gay as BSACA uncovers gay club

BY PETER DURU MAKURDI - Governor Gabriel Suswam of Benue state has decried the rising cases of gay activities, urging the Church to lead the campaign against the unholy activity in Nigeria.This came as the state uncovered the existence of a 400 member gay club in Makurdi Suswam also cautioned parents against abdicating responsibilities of keeping a close tab on their children whom he said were easily being lured into homosexuality. Cameroon gay rights campaigner tortured and killed

LIBREVILLE (AFP) - A gay rights campaigner in Cameroon was found dead in his Yaounde home after being tortured, Human Rights Watch said on Tuesday. Eric Lembembe's body was discovered in the capital on Monday and his body showed he had been extensively tortured, the group said in a statement. "Friends of Lembembe found his body on Monday evening. According to one of his friends his neck was broken and his face, hands and feet were burned with an iron," the statement said. The organisation referred to the incident as "murder" and called on the authorities to carry out a "thorough" investigation. They said Lembembe was found after worried friends had been unable to contact him by phone. The front door to his house was padlocked on the outside but they could see his body through a window and called the police, who broke down the door. Alleged gay pastor held for abusing teenager released

BY EGUFE  YAFUGBORHI PORT HARCOURT— A CHURCH founder simply identified as Pastor Chinagoro has been released by the Oyigbo Divisional Police Office in Rivers State after five days in detention for alleged abuse of a 13-year-old Destiny Kalu. The police, acting on complaints by the victim’s mother, Mrs. Kalu through a counsel, had arrested the Pastor who runs a church in Mbesie, Imo State after the teenager had confided in her mother that the suspect has been having sex with him through his anus.
