E.K.Clark Tourney: Defeated champion blames coach

By Solomon Nwoke, Warri The maiden Chief E K Clerk wrestling championship is living up to its billings as another champion was dethroned yesterday in the 72kg female category here in Warri, Delta state. World number three in the 67kg weight class, Ifeoma Iheanacho representing Imo State was beaten by Private Philomena Nlemeofor from the Directorate of Army Physical Training (DAPT) Zaria attached to the 35 Batallion Nigeria Army. Delta wrestlers pledge to honour Clark with victory

By Solomon Nwoke, Warri DELTA State wrestlers are not leaving anything to chance in their quest to win the maiden Chief E K Clark Open Wrestling Championship holding at the Brown Hill Events Centre in Warri,. The wrestlers were yesterday seen sweating it out in readiness  for the Championships, starting today. Speaking to Sports Vanguard,  Head coach of the Delta State team, Peter Nwamaka, said he confident that his hosts would honour Chief Clark in whose honour, the championship was put in place, by emerging overall winners.. “We have actually prepared for the competition having camped for a few weeks and we are ready to do the state proud. All my wrestlers are raring to go and show their stuff as they are on top form for the challenges ahead. “This Championship will be a wonderful one. Interestingly, we are hosting the maiden edition and Delta state wrestlers will not disappoint.
