FG disburses N5bn to 56,500 women under CCT scheme

Ado Ekiti — Federal Government has disbursed N5 billion to 56,500 vulnerable women under the Conditional Cash Transfer, CCT, scheme.
Speaking in Ado Ekiti, yesterday, during the National Launch of the CCT scheme, the Senior Special Assistant on Millennium Development Goals (MDs) to the President, Dr Precious Gbeneol ,said the beneficiaries were drawn from 24 states of the Federation .
According to her, all the beneficiaries of the scheme would be entitled to a monthly stipend of N5,000 for 12 months, after which they would be given N100, 000, noting that “beneficiaries are expected to invest in agriculture or finance the education of their children or look after their health needs.”
The SSA disclosed that N370 million will be disbursed to carefully selected 2,250 poor women in Ekiti, drawn from five local government areas.
